Karen Choules purchased The Carlton Inn Bed and Breakfast in The Willamette Valley in August 2012, with the desire to share my growing passion for food, wine, hospitality and travel with guests from near and far. The idea of owning a Bed & Breakfast had always been a dream of mine since visiting my first B&B in the late 80s, but never did I think the idea would become reality. My career background has ranged from administrative and marketing for engineering firms, to more recently owning and operating two different day spas in the southern California area.
Despite having built a small, but successful day spa business in Claremont with my younger daughter, I stumbled across a for sale listing for The Carlton Inn Bed & Breakfast. I eventually called for more information, and decided I needed to visit the area. I arrived in Yamhill County in early May 2012 to explore Oregon’s wine country. Within minutes, I knew this area was the right place for me. I fell in love with the The Carlton Inn Bed & Breakfast, and quickly realized this would be my new life. I’m here to stay!
The Carlton Inn is a small, owner-occupied, independently owned and operated Bed & Breakfast. Karen does it all with the assisting housekeeping skills of Brenda who has been with the Inn since the first innkeepers from Sweden opened for business in 2005.
We hope that we've thought of everything, including power strips in each guest room, each bathroom being equipped with a hair dryer; razors, and tooth paste available on request; and floss, cotton balls, and Q-tips are located in counter containers. Our signature lemongrass/sage shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion are in convenient pump bottles. There is a DVD collection for watching in the TV area or enjoy in the privacy of your room with your laptop. Tired of electronics? Browse through the bookcases for finger turning pages, or for those competive spirits, bring out the board/card games for some old fashioned fun.
