History of The Carlton Inn

Operating as a Bed and Breakfast since 2005, Edward and Heidi purchased the Inn in November 2006 with the vision to continue what the Inn’s creators had started. The farmhouse style home provides a perfect setting for stepping back into time and surrounding yourself with items from generations gone by. The Inn is comfortably furnished with American and European antiques, many of which are family heirlooms. The original builders of this 1915 home were the owners of the lumber mill in Carlton. Evidence of this is shown in the beautiful fir floors, use of crown molding, and built in butler’s pantry.

The city of Carlton was established in 1899. Today, Carlton has a population of approx 1600 and is recognized as one of Oregon’s newest wine communities in the heart of the Willamette Valley. Over 12 wineries call Carlton home, many of which have tasting rooms open to the public within walking distance of The Carlton Inn.
